Project Description
What if we thought together about the traditions of tomorrow?
Enter in the universe of the Being-Jiggler and its cousin the multimedia podorythmic board. To the rhythm of the feet tapping on this board, the multimedia space comes alive with projections and games. In the same way, the Being-Jiggler comes to life, dancing to traditional fiddle tunes of yesterday and today.
In a “performance to learn more” type activity, discover the enriching world of open innovation, by exploring how these two objects were born in Fab Labs, these public spaces of collaborative fabrication and knowledge sharing that are emerging throughout Quebec.
With his fiery bow, his Fab Labs stories and his trad tunes, Guillaume Coulombe offers you to rediscover our traditions in a lively experience, where he also tells the story of digital and collaborative manufacturing. An interactive, multidisciplinary and enriching experience.
An initiative of
LabScène is an open innovation mediation process, where artists and the public meet to create projects that give life to scenographic objects that, in an eventual performance, will magnify the magic of these exchanges. Jos’ violin is a collective, multimedia and living encyclopedia of traditional Québec music that aims to promote its culture, practice and learning. LabScène and Jo’s violin are initiatives of Procédurable and Guillaume Coulombe.
Entrepreneur and artist, Guillaume clears the interdomain with his various projects. He is the initiator and bearer of the trad encyclopedia Le violon de Jos, as well as one of the initiators of the Fab Lab movement in Quebec.
In his approach named LabScène, he crosses traditions with digital fabrication technologies. These experiences of making-together taking place in Fab Labs workshops have given birth to the Being-Jiggler and the podorythmics board of Jos’ violin, two modern elements of heritage shared in a free and open way.
Guillaume puts open innovation at the center of his activities, so that collaboration and knowledge sharing are drivers of collective creativity. Around him, he is a fiddler, a cruciverbalist and a softball player. Mirror neurons fascinate him; he also likes to cook living things, like kefir and kombucha.
