Project Description

The young participants of the District Central’s Les copains de Saint-Simon day camp are invited to learn about digital animation by creating playful and ephemeral murals and graffiti.

MAPP_Your Neighborhood is a cultural mediation activity where we show participants how to create animations using iPads. Once the creative workshops are over, as soon as the sun goes down, the spectators will see their giant creations magically projected on the walls of the neighborhood using the MAPP_MTL projector.

The workshop will be guided by Annik Boivin Photography !

For Annik, each project is an opportunity to share. It offers immersive experiences of teaching, cultural mediation, creativity and love of community. She enjoys photography, painting, horticulture, cooking, has worked in film, produces music and enjoys being aware of the news. Annik loves to feed on “our inner child”, so she naturally enjoys working with children. Through her involvement with MAPP MTL, her work as a cultural mediator and artist within the organization, she explores creative tools to draw a dream world and have fun projecting it on buildings, trees or in streets.

MAPP is offering a showcase for Montréal talent while democratizing and promoting the development of video mapping. MAPP offers creative workshops within the reach of all, and opening a real participative dialogue between residents, artists and their neighborhoods, MAPP positions itself as an active and involved player in the influence of this emerging practice.

These cultural mediation activities invite a visual artist to initiate participants to the creation of animations that will then be projected on the walls of the neighborhood.

MAPP‘s international network now extends to Tokyo, Nantes and soon Marseille… This network accelerates collaboration between cities and exchanges between creators.
